Hey, I'm new.I really love TKaM. By far one of the best books ever. I was so excited when I found out we were going to read it in class.Anyway, I have to do that oh so famous map assignment, and I was wondering if you could help me out.See, the thing is I need pictures. These are what I need:Scout's HouseNeighbors' houses (Radkey, Crawford, Mrs. Dubose, Haverford)the courthouseatticus's officethe Newspaper OfficeThe post officethe jailthe schoolthe oak treethe dumpthe ewell's homethe quartersfirst purchase churchI'm looking for pictures from the movie, I realize that not all of these places were shown, but any help is welcomed
I have a new layout up at this community! I may add a header soon. I also picked up TKAM on DVD yesterday. It's a 2 disc set with 11 theatrical posters from around the world, which is pretty neat. I haven't watched it yet, but might tonight. If I get around to it, I'll make screencaps of it and add it to my Screencap Gallery. But that won't be for a little while. Anyway, hope you are enjoying the DVD if you purchased it! It's very reasonable. I got it for $20 at Target. I'll also customize the box at the side. I don't have time right now.

I searched all around town today for the TKAM DVD. When I got home, I went to bestbuy.com, and it said that there was going to be a release on September 6th of this year!! So, mark your calendars! You know I'll be getting it. I've been rereading the book, and I recently watched the movie on the VHS copy I have. I'm so glad there's going to be a DVD release! I need it badly. Glad to see people are joining/posting in my community! Spread the word about it too!
From the Guardian newspaper website:Mockingbird star returns to screen
More than four decades after giving one of the most luminous child performances on screen as Scout in the 1962 classic To Kill a Mockingbird and then almost immediately retiring from the spotlight, Mary Badham has gone in front of the camera again. The 52-year-old appears in a cameo role in Our Very Own, a gentle family drama set in 1978 about five teenagers star-struck by Sondra Locke, the waif-like actor best known for sharing on- and off-screen time with Clint Eastwood.
Hello there people! I just joined like..5 minutes ago and decided to make a "I'm new" posty thing. ^_^Hi there. I just finished reading TKAM for the second time in my literature class. I read it last year and remembered really liking it but I'd since forgotten about it and let it slowly collect dust on my bookshelf. When I needed it for class I just pulled it down and rediscovered the sheer....PERFECTION of this book! I love it so much. Enough for me to run up to my lit teacher and yell "This book is AWESOME!!" in her face right before going to my next class. She may think I'm weird. Also, Atticus Finch is my favorite character from ANY book. His names' really cool too. *Says to self* Atticus. As a joke, I told my friend that I'm in love with Atticus. He believed me and blurted it out to the whole class "Sally loves Atticus!" I bet my teach thinks I'm really weird now. Whatever! This isn't a post to my journal so lets get back to the subject. I love this book more than any other and I'm happy there's a (fairly new??) community for it!
Sorry to make two posts in a row. Here's the icons I was talking about. I found enough pictures around the web for this batch, but the call for screencaps hasn't changed. *pleads* Anyways, enjoy! :)Teaser: 23. I'm so happy to have found this community! Great idea :) I have been a To Kill a Mockingbird movie fan for a while, but haven't read the book yet. That will change next school year when my American literature class studies the book. Horray!! I'm not sure if this is allowed, but I've been searching for movie captures of the 1962 movie and can hardly find any images, much less screencaptures. Does anyone know of a place I might be able to locate some? I enjoy making LJ icons of films and TV, so it would be kind of a promise of TKaM goodies to come if anyone could find any. *winks*Glad to have found a group of fellow admirers!
I have a confession to make. I am in love with "To Kill A Mockingbird" (the book). Although I haven't seen the movie, it is one of the best stories that I have ever read. I think that I've actually read the book at least 25 times (and I'm only 16 years old!).
